A compilation of quotes <3
The mean reds are horrible. Suddenly you're afraid and you don't know what you're afraid of. Do you ever get that feeling? - Breakfast At Tiffany's
You call yourself a free spirit, a "wild thing," and you're terrified somebody's gonna stick you in a cage. Well baby, you're already in that cage. You built it yourself. And it's not bounded in the west by Tulip, Texas, or in the east by Somali-land. It's wherever you go. Because no matter where you run, you just end up running into yourself. - Breakfast At Tiffany's
See, when you're mad, you don't miss people. So, if you stay mad, it's like you never knew them at all. That way you don't feel sucky about them leaving you. - Uptown Girls
Sam, I can go at least another nine rounds, but you got to let me in. - I Am Sam
Summer romances begin for all kinds of reasons, but when all is said and done, they have one thing in common. They're shooting stars, a spectacular moment of light in the heavens, fleeting glimpse of eternity, and in a flash they're gone. - The Notebook

OMFG! NEW GG BOOK!
My Sister's Keeper
At first I was a little iffy about Cameron Diaz, would she be able to pull of the emotionally distraught mother of three, with a daughter who has been batteling cancer almost her entire life? Well I'll tell you one thing, SHE PULLED IT OFF!
I went to see My Sister's Keeper on the day of it's release. I loved the book to death and I was very excited to see how they adapted it into a movie. I was nervous about the casting because I felt as though they were all wrong for the roles, except for Alec Baldwin who fit Campbell Alexander to a tee.
So the movie started, and of course I already had tears in my eyes, my eyes did not cease to produce tears for the entire duration of the movie. It was terribly sad, I don't think that there was a dry eye in the theater, people were sobbing and weeping. It was not a feel good movie at all! The acting was great, but there was something about it that it didn't seem as amazing as I was hoping. They didn't develop the characters nearly enough, in the book you felt for Anna because you felt as though her parents really had had her simply to be a donor for her sister. In the film they didn't show Anna's feelings at all, they didn't show her talks with her father Brian about her feelings, they didn't really show the feelings of any of the characters.
The part of the film that irked me the most was how they completely changed the ending!! How could Jodi Picoult allow them to completely change the entire theme of the book! Having Anna not die in the end completely disregards the theme of "you are brought to this earth for one reason...". I can't believe that they ruined her amazing story like that. The ending was predictable, and it lacked the shock and sadness the ending the book had. I was severly dissapointed. I sobbed while reading the book, I think that for me the book was sadder than the film.
In conclusion, the acting in the film was amazing, a great protrayal of the characters, but it was overshadowed by the terrible butchering of a beautifully sad and amazing story.

I <3 "Heart"
I especially love these lyrics, and this will be my ending quote.
"I'm falling all over myself, trying to be someone else. I wish you would dare to walk me home, so I wouldn't have to feel alone." - Taylor Momsen, The Pretty Reckless

Another day in June...
Monday, June 8, 2009
Oh the joys of June!
There has been a constant rumble of thunder outside for about half an hour now... just waiting for the downpour!
A song for my mood?
"Leaving Town Alive" by Bethany Joy Galeotti. Quite a beautiful song, who knew Haley from One Tree Hill had a beautiful voice?
A fact from my study sessions! Did you know that Emily Murphy was the first woman judge appointed in Canada?
Yeep, that's it for now! My weekend was alright, quite packed looking back on it, a bit of fun with friends, a bit of studying, a bit of relaxing, a bit of soccer and some more studying on the side... Perhaps I should hit the pillow now, but before then a few movies I would like to rent, Becoming Jane and Dangerous Minds.
If only I had the time... math exam on Wednesday and history on Thursday, perhaps Thursday night I can take a couple hours to watch one of those movies, hmm we'll see!
Well on the note of studying, a quote which seems to fit the theme,
"The beautiful thing about learning is that no one can take it from you." - B.B King

Favourite movie scenes/moments!
So let's go in alphabetical order, shall we? Let's journey into the land of film!!
Starting of the list will of course be Breakfast At Tiffany's! This movie is just downright amazing and a feel good film! haha! Anywhooo, yes onto my favourite scene... well there are three main ones which come to mind, but I'm going to have to go with the oh so amazing "Moon River" scene, you know the one! For those of you living under a rock, it's the scene where Holly sings "Moon River" on her window ledge... ring any bells? I sincerely hope you have sirens going off in your head, and if not GO WATCH BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S NOW!!!
Next is... Ferris Bueller's Day Off! So this movie might be one of the funniest movies ever! My favourite scene would be the one with the teacher (Ben Stein) doing the roll call, "Bueller, Buller, Bueller..." and then showing the empty chair!! HAHA! So great!
Moving on... Forrest Gump yes another classic right here! Such a great movie though, I have seen it countless times and yet I still love it! I'm just going to put the quote here because I think everyone will know what I'm talking about, and if not... that's rather sad! haha!
"My mama always said, life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get"
Meh, that's enough for now... I'm bored. Perhaps one day I will continue with my other favourite movies!! I think I'm going to compile a list of alllll the movies I have seen! Or try to at least? Yes, another summer project! haha
Goodbye! As for my quote, one I love from a Beatles song!
"All you need is love, love. Love is all you need." - The Beatles, All You Need Is Love
B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L
And now for three GORGEOUS (summer) shots!
check out her website, she takes such beautiful pictures... I'm thinking of making a collage, or something! We'll see, if I ever have enough time! I need an inspiration scrapbook... summer project I suppose!
And just this final one, reminds me of summer days at the cottage feeding the ducks!
Thanks to kateryaninc.com and pixdaus.com for the beautiful shots! Now the question is, which one should I set as my new background?
cheers!

Horoscope!
- It’s more than possible that you’ll be torn between keeping your family happy, and doing something that you want to do with your friends. The truth is boredom will be your worst enemy today, so make sure that you do something new and challenging in order to feel invigorated again!
monthly horoscope, for June! Perfect timing, it's a new month! (Where on earth did May go?!?!)
This will not be an easy month for those born under the sign of the Ram as your natural tendencies are likely to lead to some unwelcome conflict. As a Ram you find it easy to charge ahead with your plans without consulting those around you. This month you need to try and listen a little more carefully to their advice.
Romantically, though, this could be an exciting time. The passionate approach that may not be helpful in many areas of your life will prove very helpful in the world of emotions. You will need to decide whether you are ready to make a genuine commitment.
Oooh sounds exciting! Hmm, I wonder if any of it is accurate. Perhaps once June is done I can do a recap to see how far off this was! haha
Well, that's all of now! Byee!
Summerrr!
Ooook, well that took a while! haha! Hmm I'm in a summer mood.. favourite summer things anyone?
Song: "Summer In The City" by The Lovin' Spoonful, how can you listen to this song and be in a bad mood! I love it!
Food: Mint Chocolate Chip Kawartha Dairies Ice Cream... yuumm! and cucumber haha! I'm obsessed with cucumber, I can't get enough of it!
Summer 2009 movie: Harry Potter 6 (who doesn't love a good Harry Potter?)
Vacationing spot: Kefalonia, Greece. Although I can't stay there for too long, I get bored! haha
Summer read 2009: THE GATECRASHER by Madeleine Wickham, who also goes by Sophie Kinsella. I love all of her books, they are light a fun. Perhaps I will read a more "intense" book as well... but definitely this one for a light summer read!
Activity: I'm leaning towards bike rides or roller blading, I got a new pair of roller blades today!! woo!
Hmm, well not much else to post about, well I'm off to browse around online, perhaps I will be back with some items I'm coveting!
In the mood of summer which to me means happiness, well here's another hopefully somewhat inspirational happy quote!
"Happiness is not having what you want, but wanting what you have." - Rabbi Hyman Schachtel

I've been hit by boredom!
Anywho, I added a quote from my favourite song of the moment, "Shattered" by Trading Yesterday. If you haven't heard this song, it's a must; it's amazing! All Trading Yesterday's songs are perfection. Check them out :) their music is 10 times better than the crap they play on the radio these days... like honestly, all of Lady Gaga's songs sound the exact same.
Hmm, well I haven't really felt in the mood to write for a while, and on the odd occasion that I do, I don't have enough time, but here's one of my favourite poems that I have written, check it out. Do not steal, copyright 2009.
Restless Love
My love for you is restless
You may say it reminds you of the waves in the ocean
always moving, and changing
Suddenly.
A strong wind picks up
And the waves change direction.
Today I love you, and know you are the one
Tomorrow, without warning.
I change my mind.
You are not who I thought you were
The decision is making me restless
Do I marry you?
Do I leave you?
My mind is always changing directions
You may say it reminds you of the waves in the ocean
Today you are like the current, sweeping me away
Tomorrow you are like the whirlpool
Slowly pulling me under.
My love for you is constantly changing
Like the undercurrents in the ocean
One second moving right, then next going left
Do I marry you?
Do I leave you?
And to finish off with my favourite quote of the moment, I hope it gives you some inspiration!
"We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will." - Chuck Palahniuk
